More in detail
- Maurizio Fuselli 2019, 93 WP: “Clear, polished, firm and deep aroma of ripe black berries and a little cherry with slightly tobacco, leathery and juniper tones and a hint of liquorice. Dense, juicy and rather tart in the mouth, concentrated, ripe dark fruit and some sooty-smoky wood, notes of cocoa and coffee grounds on the palate, persistent, present, yet ripe tannin, some bite, again also juniper, plus salty minerality, good depth, lots of power, very good, firm, tangy and somewhat toasty finish with partly ethereal spice. Wins over days; must mature”;
- Aldone 2019, 91 WP: “Quite firm and deep, polished, somewhat smoky to slightly bacony aroma of ripe predominantly black berries and a little black olives with tobacco notes, a little pepper and tar. Ripe, warm, rather juicy fruit with tart, smoky-roasty wood spice, bitter-chocolate notes on the palate, also coffee and a little liquorice, black olives again in the background, lots of power, crumbly-sandy tannin, bacony hints, good depth, still undeveloped, very good, firm, juicy finish with bitter wood spice and ethereal notes”;
- Franchesato 2019, 91 WP: “Firm and quite deep, very slightly fleshy-animalic scent of ripe black and a little red berries with Mediterranean herbs in the background, a little blood, cherries and juniper. Ripe, very slightly warm, juicy, polished fruit with chocolaty flavours, delicate bite, very fine, crumbly tannin, good persistence, almost a little flattering style, which however gains bite with air, meaty and toasty nuances in the background, has power, a hint of juniper, very good, juicy and a little chocolaty finish with noticeable alcohol warmth”;
- Il Tarabuso 2019, 90 WP: “Firm, tart and quite deep, slightly fleshy-animalic aroma of very ripe predominantly dark berries with smoky-roasty nuances, Mediterranean herbs and a hint of coffee. Ripe, warm, juicy dark fruit, toasty wood spice with aromas of bitter chocolate and coffee, peppery and juniper nuances on the palate, persistent, a little mint, also Mediterranean herbs in the background, very good, tart and slightly ethereal finish with some coffee spice”.
