I like monovarietal, they are averagely tough wines and with character. In order to produce a wine in purity, you must be able to interpret the grape organoleptic characteristics throughout the production chain, if you make some mistake you risk that its qualities will change in faults. At the same time, however, if you treat them as you should and if you respect their limits, they allow you in the vinification steps to give your distinctive mark in the winemaking process. Even though they represent a good challenge, they allow me to obtain wines that I feel like my own, on a character level and as an expression of the Bolgheri territory.
Among the main monovarietal red wines we find: Maurizio Fuselli (Petit Verdot), Aldone (Merlot), Franchesato (Cabernet Franc) and Tarabuso (Cabernet Sauvignon).
However, Terre del Marchesato is not a winery that produces only monovarietals, our range includes three wine blends of red grapes that reflect the typical local production: Marchesale (DOC Bolgheri Superiore), Emilio Primo (DOC Bolgheri Rosso) and Inedito (IGT Toscana Red).
Among the white wines we find Papeo (Vermentino) and Emilio Primo Bianco (Vermentino).
Among our excellencies, I would also like to mention our Nobilis (Muffato), a truly unique wine that we produce from a few and selected rows of our Vermentino vineyards, our two distillates, Grappa and Brandy, and finally our Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
